16 Day - Cape Town - Namibia Ethos

Depart from Cape Town, visit the Fish River Canyon, biggest sand dunes in the world at Sossusvlei, Swakopmund-Adventure activities, quad biking, sand boarding, hot air ballooning and more. Visit Etosha Pan Game reserve to view the big four, return to Cape Town via Windhoek.

This tour takes in the best of the Northern Cape and Namibia and will take you through stunning landscapes, to large rivers, canyons, to the coast, game parks and other uniques destinations. You will have the opportunity to see dolphins, whales. elephant and other game as well as enjoy exciting adventure activities and get an experience of what Africa is all about.

Itinerary

 Day 1  
Depart Cape Town. 1st night at the mighty Orange River at Fidlers Creek camping along the river. Dinner served around the camp fire.
 Day 2  
Leave for the Namibian border and make our way to Canyon Road House. On the way we make a number of stops namely the Hot Springs at Ai Ais. We also view the majestic Fish River Canyon - a definite photo opportunity. We settle in for the night at the Canyon Road House.
 Day 3  
We make our way to the Sossusvlei to view the biggest sand dunes in the world. We then make our way to Solitaire. This location is a must for cameras for the best sunset and sunrises in the world.
 Day 4 & 5  
We travel to Walvis Bay. Here we stop over for lunch at the famous Raft restaurant, here we view dolphins in their natural habitat, and flamingos in their thousands. After lunch we make our way to Swakopmund the German capital of Namibia. We settle in for two nights at this German Town. For these two days you are at leisure to shop and taste the German foods. Adventure activities are available eg quad biking, sand boarding, hot air ballooning, horse riding, camel riding, dolphin watching, whale watching from a boat - to mention a few.
 Day 6  
We make our way to the Khorixas area traveling via Henties Bay - a fishermans paradise. Through the desert to our next rest camp at Camp Xaragu in the heart of the Damaraland. Here you will be taken on a game drive to view the smaller desert elephant. These elephant are only found in this area. After a hearty dinner you will be treated to a scorpion and snake display.
 Day 7  
After breakfast we make our way to Outjo and then onto Ethos National Park. We enter the park via the Anderson Gate and to our rest camp Okaukuejo. This is truly a magnificent camp as they offer a watering hole on site. At night it is lit up so one can see all the animals coming down to drink. Dinner is served around the camp fire and this gives one a chance to identify all the different animal sounds.
 Day 8  
We make our way to Halali rest camp some 78 km away. En route we make a number of stops to view the huge amount of game the park has to offer. Late afternoon we book in to our camp. The camp has a pool for us to enjoy. After dinner we make our way to the watering hole to view the animals.
 Day 9  
After an early breakfast we continue our game drive to our next rest camp Namutoni, an old German Fort. Namutoni also has a pool and a watering hole for us to enjoy.
 Day 10  
After breakfast we say goodbye to Etosha Pan and make our way to the Waterberg Plateau for our next stopover. This gives us a chance to unwind and relax in this beautiful area. We also have a chance to view cheetahs in a rehabilitation centre.
 Day 11  
After breakfast we make our way to Windhoek via Otjiwarongo and Okahandja. Here we have time to view the beautiful craft markets. Late afternoon we will arrive at Windhoek - the Capital of Namibia. After settling in at our camp an optional extra will be a dinner at the world famous Joes Beer House.
 Day 12  
After breakfast we make our way to Mariental - this will be our next stopover. Dinner will be served around a camp fire.
 Day 13  
We make our way to Keetmanshoop we book in at the Quivertree forest camp.
 Day 14 & 15  
We head for the South African border post and after the formalities are completed we settle in at Fiddlers Creek for two nights. This gives us time to relax or a day trip on the river can be arranged.
 Day 16  
After breakfast we make our way back to Cape Town and drop off at an arranged area.
