14 Day - South African Discovery

This exciting two week tour lets you discover the highlights of South Africa and takes you to top attractions in Mpumalanga, Swaziland, the Kruger National Park, KwaZulu Natal, the Garden Route and Western Cape. The 14 Day/13 Night South African Discovery departs from Johannesburg at 08h30 every Monday (Pre-tour arrival Sunday), and Cape Town at 08h30 every Tuesday (Pre-tour arrival Sunday).

The 14 Day/13 Night Panorama South African Discovery tour will let you experience the best that South Africa has to offer. You will see spectacular views on the eastern Drakensberg escarpment including Blyde River Canyon, Three Rondawels and God's Window. In the world famous Kruger Park you will see the wildlife wonders of Africa and might even spot all of the Big Five (Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo and Leopard).

You will travel through the African Kingdom of Swaziland and on to Zululand for a taste of Zulu traditional culture. Thereafter, the friendly cities of Durban and Port Elizabeth will give you a taste South Africa's Indian Ocean coast at its best .

The trip continues down the spectacular Garden Route where scenic beauty abounds, then takes you over the Outeniqua Mountains to Outshoorn's ostrich farms and Cango Caves. The last few days includes Mossel Bay, the Overberg and South Africa's mother city - Cape Town.

Itinerary

Day 1 Sunday
Arrival transfer to your hotel. Remainder of day at leisure (optional excursions available). Overnight and Breakfast at Leriba Lodge - Pretoria. Meals: none
Day 2 Monday
Depart after breakfast for a full day of sightseeing as we travel along the Drakensberg escarpment. The scenic Panorama route takes us to the Blyde River Canyon, Three Rondawels, God's Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes and the nostalgic village of Pilgrim's Rest. We continue on our decent down the mountain into the Lowveld, a subtropical paradise of fruit. Indulge in nature's beauty at the misty Lone Creek waterfall before we continue to our hotel near Hazyview. Dinner, Overnight and Breakfast at Hippo Hollow - Hazyview. Meals: BD
Day 3 Tuesday
Early morning at sunrise we make our way into the world famous Kruger Park for a full day game drive in search of the wildlife wonders Africa offers her visitors in this unspoiled land where big game still roam freely. We might even spot the Big Five (Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo and Leopard). At sunset we arrive at our rest camp for dinner and overnight. Option for open vehicle night game drive. Dinner, Overnight and Breakfast at rest camp - Kruger Park. Meals: BD
Day 4 Wednesday
Depart at sunrise for another full day filled with the search for big game. Breakfast packs on board. Return to rest camp late afternoon for dinner and overnight. Option for open vehicle night game drive. Dinner, Overnight and Breakfast at rest camp - Kruger Park Meals: BD
Day 5 Thursday
Depart the Kruger Park and continue to the Kingdom of Swaziland. Visit the Ngwenya Glass Factory and open market near Mbabane. Dinner, Overnight and Breakfast at Ezulweni Sun - Mbabane. Meals: BD
Day 6 Friday
Depart after breakfast and visit the Swazi Candle Factory before continuing south towards Kwazulu Natal. After the border formalities we continue to Hluhluwe. Dinner, Overnight and Breakfast at Bushlands Game Lodge - Hluhluwe. Meals: BD
Day 7 Saturday
After breakfast we travel to a famous traditional Zulu Village for cultural experience and dances and learn more about the lifestyle of this proud nation. Lunch (included) is served here as well. From here continue along the sugarcane fields of the North Coast to Durban where we arrive late afternoon. Overnight and Breakfast at Holiday Inn Garden Court - Durban. Meals: BL
Day 8 Sunday
Morning at leisure to explore this city (optional excursions available) before your transfer to the airport for flight to Port Elizabeth (not included). Arrival transfer to your hotel. Overnight and Breakfast at Brooke's Hill Luxury Suites - Port Elizabeth. Meals: B
Day 9 Monday
After a short orientation tour of this city influenced by the 1820 British Settlers, we continue along this spectacular coast known as the garden route along Storms River, Plettenberg Bay, to beautiful Knysna. Dinner, Overnight and Breakfast at Knysna River Club - Knysna. Meals: DB
Day 10 Tuesday
After breakfast we depart to George where we board the Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe Steam Train for a scenic trip over the Kaaimans River Bridge and along the spectacular coastline to Knysna. After a cruise on the Knysna Lagoon return to hotel. Remainder of day at leisure. Dinner, Overnight and Breakfast at Knysna River Club - Knysna. Meals: DB
Day 11 Wednesday
We continue via the Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn, known as the feather capital of the world. Visit the famous Cango Caves as well as an Ostrich Show Farm and the Cango Wildlife Ranch and Cheetah Breeding Centre for guided tours. Dinner, Overnight and Breakfast at Adley House - Oudtshoorn. Meals: DB
Day 12 Thursday
Depart after breakfast and continue to Mosselbay where we visit the Maritime Museum and old Post Office Tree. From here we continue to Swellendam and on to Cape Town to arrive late afternoon. Overnight and Breakfast at Bantry Bay Luxury Suites - Cape Town. Meals: B
Day 13 Friday
Day at leisure to explore the city and surrounds (optional excursions available). Overnight and Breakfast at Bantry Bay Luxury Suites - Cape Town. Meals: B
Day 14 Saturday
Departure transfer to airport for your onward journey. Meals: B
